project #Indonesia
At Access Time, we’re on a mission to make the
digital world in Indonesia welcoming for everyone.
Through our Web Without Barrier project, we team
up with companies and universities to spread the
word that accessibility helps all of us.
We run lively workshops, seminars, and trainings
that turn “accessibility” from a buzzword into
everyday practice.
What is Digital
Accessibility ?
01
DID YOU KNOW?
AROUND 1.3 BILLION PEOPLE
(THAT’S 16% OF THE WORLD!) OR 1
IN EVERY 6 PEOPLE LIVE WITH A
DISABILITY.
TO BE “ACCESSIBLE” MEANS:
YOUR DIGITAL PRODUCT CAN BE USED EFFECTIVELY BY
AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE, REGARDLESS OF THEIR
ABILITIES, DEVICES, OR ENVIRONMENT.
IT’S NEVER JUST ABOUT PEOPLE
WITH DISABILITES
Lifelong conditions that
remain constant, such
as blindness, deafness,
or paralysis. People
often use assistive
technologies to navigate
daily tasks.
Short-term conditions
that heal or improve over
time, like a broken arm,
recovering from surgery,
or an illness that limits
mobility.
Limitations caused by
the environment or
context, such as
struggling to read in
bright sunlight, carrying
a baby with one arm, or
working in a noisy space.
PERMANENT TEMPORARY SITUATIONAL
A must for some, benefit for all.

Accessibility
Around The
World
02
United States
Under the ADA, companies can face fines up to $75,000
for a first violation and $150,000 for subsequent violations.
European Union
The European Accessibility Act requires digital accessibility
for products and services. Non-compliance can result in
fines up to €500,000 or 5% of annual turnover, whichever is
higher.
Japan
The Japanese Accessibility Law (JIS X 8341-3) mandates
web accessibility for government and private sector
websites. While specific fines aren't prescribed, non-
compliance can result in public disclosure and business
restrictions.
Australia
Under the Disability Discrimination Act, organizations can
face penalties up to AUD $55,000 per violation. The
Australian Human Rights Commission actively pursues
cases of digital discrimination.

“The thing about building accessible websites…”
People often think, “Wah, I need to learn so many new tools and
features!”
But actually, accessibility is mostly about using what we already know -
just more thoughtfully.
Let’s talk about the core of all web development

Why using the right tags makes a real difference
Why Semantic HTML
Matters
Semantic HTML isn’t just about clean code, it gives meaning to your content, making
websites more accessible, easier to navigate, and more compatible with tools, search
engines, and modern web standards.

how to test
accessibility
05
Can I fully use this page with just my keyboard with no mouse at all?”
If you can’t:
Some users with motor disabilities can’t either.
Some screen reader users will also struggle.
Your UI is not truly accessible.
The Keyboard Test
Unplug your mouse (or just don’t touch it).
Use Tab / Shift+Tab / Enter / Space / Esc to:
Reach all interactive elements
Operate buttons, links, menus, dialogs
Check that focus is always visible

Melihat tanpa penglihatan
Kecil namun tetap terang
Saat bayang jumpa cahaya
Tak bisa mendengar bunyi
Namun tetap merasakan sekeliling
Tak bisa mengucap kata
Namun masih bisa memberi pilihan
Tak mampu menggenggam sekuat tenaga
Namun tetap beradaptasi lewat perih dan luka
Tak bisa menjangkau jauh
Namun tetap bisa menyentuh bintang
Kilat datang membangkitkan takut
Namun ruang aman dekat di sini
Tetap bisa belajar
Meski caranya berbeda
we are all temporary abled
