• Be familiar with the contest rulebook
• Recruit and assign judges for the Area, Division, and
District Contests
• Brief the voting judges, ballot counters, and timers before
each contest
• Collect paperwork from each contest functionary
• Support the Ballot Counters during the contest

What is contestseason all about?
The Toastmasters Speech
Contest are competitive events
organized by Toastmasters
International, a global nonprofit
that helps individuals develop
public speaking and leadership
skills. These contests are held at
various levels—club, area,
division, district, and
ultimately international—and
they showcase some of the best
speakers within the organization.

What Contests AreBeing Held This Year?
International Speech Contest
Open to members who have completed
Level 2 in at least one Pathways path.
Speeches are 5–7 minutes long and must be
original and inspirational.
Winners at the district level may advance to
the Toastmasters World Championship of
Public Speaking.
Contestants are encouraged to utilize all
aspects of public speaking
Tall Tales Contest
Focuses on exaggerated, fictional stories
with a humorous twist.
Open to all club members in good standing
Speeches are 3 – 5 minutes long and must
be at least 75% original
Contestants are encouraged to utilize all
aspects of public speaking
