INTRODUCTION
Graduate nursing education started in India in the
year of 1946 in CMC, Vellore and the RAK College
of Nursing at Delhi University. At present several
universities in India offer the course.
Definition
Critically evaluate generally refers to thinking
analytically about something such as a book,
painting, sculpture, relationship etc. It requires a
certain level of detachment or stepping back or
away from” that thing. It also requires holding
some ethical, aesthetic, political or other values as
being relevant to it.
Critical Meaning:
At University, to be critical does not mean to criticize in a
negative manner, rather it requires to question the
information and opinions in a text and present evaluation
or judgement of the text.
Analysis Meaning:
This is based on specific criteria. Analysis or evaluation
requires an understanding of not just the content of the
text, but also an understanding of a text’s purpose, the
intendent and why it is structured the way it is.
OBJECTIVES OF B.SC. NURSING PROGRAM:
1. To provide a balance of professional and

Semester:
Communicative English: Communicative English are designed to
develop spoken English skill and communication purpose.
Nursing Foundation I and first aid: The course is designed to help the
students to develop an understanding the philosophy, objective,
theories and process of nursing in various Supervised Clinical settings
and skills in nursing techniques and practice them in Supervised
Clinical settings. The time and content is appropriate for the course.
The students should practice and gain skill in procedures in
demonstration room followed by practice directly at patient side in
clinical field. In this semester there is no external examination. If the
external examination will done, student`s pressure will be decreased
in next semester.
Applied anatomy and physiology: The course is designed
to help the students to know about the normal structure
and functions of various human body system. But the
hours stipulated for these subjects are very lengthy.
Applied Sociology and Psychology: The total hours of
those subjects are also very much time consuming.

Building:
The College of Nursing should have a separate building.
The college of Nursing should be near to its parent
hospital having space for expansion in an institutional
area. For a college with an annual admission capacity of
40 -60 students, the constructed area of the college
should be 23720 square feet. Adequate hostel/
residential accommodation for students and staff should
be available in addition to the above mentioned built up
area of the Nursing College respectively. The details of
the constructed area is given below for admission
