• Key Steps:
Patient ID,
vein puncture,
 proper mixing,
labeling.
Hematology Lab Highlights
• CBC (SYSMEX XS-1000i):
Parameters:
– Hb, RBCs, WBCs, Platelets.
Normal Values:
– E.g., Hb (Male: 13.9–16.9 g/dL).
• Coagulation Tests:
PT (11–15 sec),APTT(26–32 sec)
INR for warfarin monitoring.
• ESR (Westergren Method):
• Measures inflammation.
Biochemistry Lab Highlights
• Routine Chemistry
Indiko Analyzer:
– Tests: Glucose,
– Uric Acid,
– LFTs (ALT, AST),
– RFTs (Creatinine).
• Electrolytes (Elite Ultra):
Na , K , Cl .
⁺ ⁺ ⁻
• Special Chemistry:
Lifotonic ECL-8000:
– Thyroid Profile (T3, T4, TSH),
– Troponin I.
Blood Bank & Urine/Semen Analysis
Blood Grouping:
Forward/reverse typing
(e.g., A+, B+).
Cross matching:
Ensures donor compatibility.
Urine Analysis:
• Physical (color, turbidity)
• Chemical (dipstick),
• Microscopic (WBCs, RBCs).
Semen Analysis:
• Motility, sperm count.
Serology Lab Highlights
• Rapid Tests (Manual Kits):
– HBsAg, HCV, HIV: Positive = 2 lines (C + P).
– Malaria Parasite: Detects Plasmodium antigens.
– ASO Test: Strep infection (agglutination =
positive).
Key Learnings & Skills
• Operated analyzers (SYSMEX, Indiko,
Lifotonic).
• Performed manual tests (ESR, blood grouping,
serology).
• Learned QC protocols and safety measures.
• Improved teamwork and patient interaction
skills.
Conclusion
• Gained hands-on experience in diagnostic
procedures.
• Bridged theoretical knowledge with practical
application.
Thank You!
